Program Overview

Our goal with the Alimiyyah Program is to bridge the gap between traditional Islamic sciences and modern scientific research. By doing so, we aim to harmonize classical Islamic teachings with contemporary academic disciplines, creating a synergy that prepares students to address modern challenges through a well-rounded Islamic perspective. This advanced program offers rigorous training in Islamic scholarship, rooted in theological and jurisprudential foundations. Initially focused on the Ḥanafī school of thought, the program gradually broadens to include perspectives from all Sunni schools. Graduates will play a pivotal role in integrating Islamic tradition with modern sciences. Furthermore, they will earn both a shahādah (certification) and ijāzah (authorization) in various Islamic disciplines, under the mentorship of renowned scholars.

Program Structure and Curriculum

The Alimiyyah Program is divided into four distinct stages, each building upon the previous one to ensure a comprehensive understanding of Islamic sciences.

The foundational stage introduces students to the basics of Islamic education, laying a strong groundwork for advanced learning.

Key subjects include:

  • Course 1: Arabic Language: Grammar and literature to build proficiency.
  • Course 2: Qur’anic Studies: Understanding and interpreting the Quran, alongside Tafsir.
  • Course 3: Aqeedah: Foundations of Islamic belief and theology.
  • Course 4: Islamic Law: Introduction to Ḥanafī jurisprudence.
  • Course 5: Islamic History: Exploration of pre-Islamic Arabia, the Seerah of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), and the early Caliphate.
  • Course 6: Hadith Studies: Basics of Prophetic traditions and their importance.
  • Course 7: Tazkiyah: Spiritual refinement and self-purification.

 

Building on the foundation, this stage delves deeper into Islamic sciences. Core modules include:

  •  Course 1: Arabic Literature: Advanced studies in Arabic texts.
  •  Course 2: Qur’anic Studies: Usul al-Tafsir (Principles of Quranic Exegesis) and deeper Tafsir.
  •  Course 3: Mustalah al-Hadith: Principles and terminology of Hadith sciences.
  •  Course 4: Hadith Studies: Continued exploration of Prophetic traditions.
  •  Course 5: Usul al-Fiqh: Principles of Islamic jurisprudence.
  •  Course 6: Islamic Law: Broader applications of Shari’ah.
  •  Course 7: Mantiq: Introduction to Islamic logic and reasoning.

In the advanced stage, students gain mastery in key Islamic disciplines. The curriculum includes:

  • Course 1: Advanced Arabic: Proficiency in understanding complex texts.
  • Course 2: Advanced Fiqh: In-depth study of Islamic jurisprudence.
  • Course 3: Qur’anic Studies: Focused study on Tafsir al-Jalalayn.
  • Course 4: Hadith Studies: Advanced exploration of Prophetic traditions.

The final stage is the pinnacle of the Alimiyyah Program, preparing students for scholarly and professional excellence. Modules include:

  • Course 1: Comparative Islamic Law: Analyzing differences among Sunni schools of thought.
  • Course 2: Advanced Hadith Studies: Mastery of Hadith sciences and their applications.
  • Course 3: Advanced Qur’anic Studies: Comprehensive understanding of the Quran and its interpretation.
